Fuzz Pedals
Fuzz pedals are the progenitor of all distortion effects, and by far the wildest. The first fuzz effect was caused by a bad transformer in a mixing console, but it was loved by so many that it was adapted into pedal form in the 1960s. According to legend, Nancy Sinatra wanted to use the aforementioned mixing console, but it had broken down completely. Studio technician Glenn Snoddy then designed a circuit to replicate the effect. It would later be patented as the Maestro Fuzz-Tone
