Preamp Pedals

Preamp pedals can describe many things. After all, every pedal is technically “pre-amp.” But we use “preamp” to describe a type of pedal meant to go right in front of your amp. Preamps are the last modification to your signal before it hits your amp. It essentially gets your signal ready for your amplifier. Preamps can take the form of single-knob boosts, specialized drive pedals, or even equalizers. Whatever form it takes, a preamp is typically about shaping your tone so that it works perfectly with your amp.
